Demanding a Choice

  1. Im an NHS patient. Even before the instigation of patient choice it is possible to get referred to any hospital you wish. Remember that most GP’s are on your side and want what is best for you. They also recognise that you may have read and researched more about your illness than they have. If you wish to be sent to a particular NHS hospital then all you have to do is ask your GP to refer you there. If you wish to be treated at St Bartholomew’s then ask him to write to Dr Schilling or Sporton at the Cardiology department, Dominion House, West Smithfield. London EC1A 7BE.

  2. Im a private or overseas patient. Write to us at 6 Corbett Road, Wanstead London E11 7BE or ring our secretary on +447941915592 or email at Cristina.thorne@zen.co.uk or page our arrhythmia nurse specialist on 07699 655809 and leave your name and phone number.
  3. What’s the difference between private and NHS care. The equipment we use is the same. The only difference is you are likely to be treated more quickly if you are a private patient.
