Cardiac rhythm problems are a frightening and complex problem and its often difficult for patients to cope. Our to Arrhythmia Nurse specialist is a dedicated point of contact who is your advocate and guide while you are looked after by us. They are your friend within the system who ensures that you understand what is happening and that your treatment is as quick and easy as possible. They may not always be able to answer your questions, but if not will find out from someone who can and get back to you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately the Arrhythmia Nurse specialist is only available to private patients but we are in process of trying to get one for NHS patients.

if you are a private patient and wish to contact the arrhythmia nurse specialist - please phone 0207 7234 2017 or page 07699 655809 and leave your name and phone number.

Claire Chitty

is our Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist, and was appointed to this role in 2005.

She graduated as a Nurse in 1994, and after 6 months general Nursing experience has spent the whole of her career in Cardiac Nursing. She completed the Cardiothoracic Nursing Course (ENB 249) in 1997, and is trained in Advanced Life Support, High Dependency Nursing and Teaching & Assessing.

She joined the London Bridge Hospital as a Ward Sister in 2001, taking main responsibility for the Cardiac High Dependency Unit, in addition to day to day ward work assisting the existing Ward Sister and Manager.

Prior to working at the London Bridge Hospital she spent 6 years in the NHS, at a major out of London Teaching Hospital, starting as a Junior Staff Nurse and progressing to Sister. She mostly worked on the wards, but also spent time in Cardiac Pre-Admission, Chest pain and out patient clinics. Although she cared for patients with all sorts of cardiac problems, and undergoing all types of procedures, she gained a special interest in arrhythmia work, and in her last year she worked as an arrhythmia study coordinator running two research studies and offering support to those patients.
